Ello ello!
Well firstly I am off to Holland again on Thursday and am looking forward to another wee break. We're going to Efteling a sort of fairytale themed amusement park there; can't wait! The weather is meant to be good there over the weekend, which is more than I can say for London. This must be the first August I've actually put my heater back on. Most bizarre.
I've been wondering a bit about the lack of decent Poser scenery lately. RDNA used to be my first stop for this kind of thing and they always seemed to have some new collection going, but lately RDNA has become more of a clothes shop, which is a real shame. The Daz PC is all right, but the themes are gathering dust mostly now and the fully furnished house project isn't really my bag. At Rendo, DM come up with some nice stuff, but it's quite stylised and everyone uses it. The nicest thing I have seen recently is Spencer's Outhouse at daz - but I am at a loss to know how it would fit into one of my scenes.
It's a shame, because the more clothes orientated we become with our art, the more our art starts to look like a virtual fashion show, and I know this is something I am guilty of too. This is probably why I enjoyed the fact that the main character in my last piece was nekkid, tastefully so, but it meant I didn't rely on pretty clothes created by other artists to make it look good. I think I'll be trying to work this way a bit more in the coming months, painting bits of clothing etc as I see fit and working more on custom made scenes.
In other news I have finally submitted to facebook, I am quite lazy at maintaining it though. Oh and if anyone has seen a decent dummies guide to CSS for here please give me a link. I'll get 'round to googling it at some point myself, just wondered if anyone had any recommendations.
Anyway, my lunch break is nearly over and I want to watch a bit of Heroes. So catch you all soon, have a lovely week.

Ohhh! I have been tagged. Baaaad
So I've been tagged and now am in thrall to another meme. To free myself I must:
1. post these rules
2. each person tagged must post 8 random (hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
3. tags should write a journal of these facts
4. at the end of the post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named
5. go to their page and leave a comment telling them that they're tagged.
Eight random facts about me:
1. I lived in India (and parts of Iran and Asia) from the age of 1 to 5
2. I helped Dom Joly and his crew film a scene for Trigger Happy TV
3. I sat next to Ian Mckellan at the theatre in the height of his Gandalf fame. I so wanted to say 'you shall not pass!' when he took his seat.
4. My family & I were shot at (by the gun happy army) in the Iran riots in '78. Thankfully none of us were hurt.
5. I was one of the youngest ever appointed managers in my company, being a mere 22 at the time.
6. I helped my friend write an official appilcation to be a Freemason last week.
7. My first boyfriend had a mohican. The rest have mostly been hair challenged.
8. I love buying gifts and people often take me shopping to help buy them for other people.
Ok... taggees are:

Devious Comments
RDNA has become on the one side an ef support center (clothes, morphs), on the other side I really like the stuff from Traveler and Lady Littlefox and MindVision. They deliver some cool naturals/hair/clothes. I loved the RealDeal sale, but after 2 or 3 years you bought all the stuff you ever need...
DAZ: PC is a 50/50 thingy, some stuff is very useful, other...
Rendo: DM and also AerySoul are the only highlights at the moment. Batlab seems to be missing for months and Hongyu is just converting old clothes to V4 (to name a few excellent creators). And they still showcase a lot of crap in their marketplace.
PoserPros: Are they still there? Royloo? Hello?
CP: If it is not flooded by new stuff from two vendors you may find something useful...
What I am really looking for are new original figure creations! Like the Lil Alien from Predatron, really cool guy!
Or new scenes like the new street scene from Stonemason... waiting waiting waiting....

I know what you mean about PP's... it's really dead there these days. I don't think I've bought anything there in about a year.
I totally agree about poser stuff... not bought much for a while (which as we're having 'cash-flow' issues atm is very good). Here's hoping someone comes up with a new cool line soon
